This family won a gift certificate for this photography session through a donation for Trinity Lutheran School’s yearly fundraiser. I LOVE photographing sisters – I have boys, so I really enjoy seeing the sister relationship with little girls. Emma and Ally were a blast! Mom made sure we had lots of different outfit options for the girls which really helped make a great photo session. The blues were great for bright color, and the matching aqua green dresses fabulous for a more muted, softer look. I have so many images that I love – I had a really hard time choosing what to blog!

I have photographed this little one since she was a few weeks old, and I love seeing her grow up! She is absolutely delightful and full of life – between outfit changes, playing with lip gloss, and breaking out in a little rash, she was ready to play and pose! Provided, of course, that she got a got a few cuddles from Mom in between. I loved the mixture of outfits for this session… a hat, a few sundresses, a tutu and her favorite bunny and book.

Meet Sophia – just 10 days old and full of personality. She did not want to stay still or pose for my camera – just wanted to pee or suck on her hand. We waited… and finally she settled down to sleep after a few hours. Patience is always rewarded when it comes to newborn sessions! Isn’t she cute?

Three little girls plus three different ages plus three different patterns = an adorable photograph for the holiday card! With back to school, we are soon headed into the holidays and these outfits are perfect for this time of year. These are an example of three looks that all work well together and have some fun with patterns.

Finally getting caught up again after our vacation to Bass Lake, CA…. more blog posts to come this week. I still haven’t posted my photos from my Utah trip!

This was an awesome photo session with great boys. Anton is one of my son’s great friends so it was easy to make him laugh, and the older two boys were great sports for family photos, even though I am fairly sure they would rather have been doing something else. I have a lot more favorites, but I have to save some surprises for their slideshow!

Gorgeous sisters – this was such a fun session! Both are graduates of Palos Verdes High School, Christine is studying English and creative writing at University of California, Berkeley and Haley is working locally for Guess after graduating from Santa Clara University just recently. We shot these just wandering around Palos Verdes Estates on a finally sunny afternoon a week or so ago.

Black and Khaki for summer… casual and classic.
Traditional colors that have been worn for photos for years and years, right?
But why not add some fun and a little attitude to this traditional color combination?
Do it for the whole family but mix it up with patterns and textures.
This avoids that matchy matchy look, but still looks amazing and pulled together.
You notice I have the mom dressed head to toe in a similar tone?
This is a very slimming look and I know us moms always want to look our slimiest in pictures, don’t we!
Have some fun with your family photos shoots this summer, play with your color combinations.

Book {for my Dad}

I made my Dad the best present for Father’s Day this year. I finally got around to make a great book of our trip to the Dominican Republic last year. It was 60 pages full of fun snapshots and memories. He absolutely loved it, and said it was the best gift we had ever given him. Photo books make a terrific gift and preserve your memories forever – plus, you don’t have to figure out where to put them on your walls!
