Lainey + Beau

I have been meaning to share this session for ages. These two are favorite clients of mine, and Lainey is one of my Jason’s little girlfriends from preschool days. It was so cold and windy the day of their photos, but they were such good sports! I think it was because they know they get treats afterwards.

Baby John is the newest addition to the family, and we had a blast watching him explore his surroundings walking around the neighborhood. I photographed his big brother at the same age so it was especially fun to compare their two personalities. I absolutely love this family, and it was great to see them again.

Joan – you are an absolutely amazing woman! I am so honored to be able to document this part of your life.

Doesn’t Jake look cool in front of this truck? I loved this image in black and white too, but the color version won in the end.

I am finally starting to get really caught up on blogging and editing! I even hired an accountant! Cross that one off my New Year’s Resolution list! Good thing, because baseball season is upon us, so any spare time is gone!

This family was so great, and I hope this was the first of many sessions over the years. Our first session got rained out, and we had to reschedule. Then, we had cold weather and a runny nose, but we had fun anyway! The kids were real troopers as it got really cold fast (well, at least for those of us with thin Southern California blood).

This next image is one of my favorites. I love how Colin is kissing his mom while Chase is vying for her attention, and Leila is just trying to run off again! Motherhood.

We saw some numbered picnic tables so the boys had fun looking for their “age” numbers. Obviously, Colin is 6.

Welcome to the wold. 10 days old. It makes SUCH a difference to photograph newborns within the first two weeks. Grant was so good, and slept through most of the session, but opened his eyes every once in a while to check us out. Look at his gorgeous hair!

I just had a bunch of session albums come in, and I actually remembered to take some photos before they left my house. These are only a few of many options for session albums.. 5×5 and 8×8 size in lots of fun colors! The ones shown are some of my more modern choices, in faux snakeskin and patent. I also have fabric and leather options for the session albums. Most clients order these with a title page and 29 images, but you can order them with as many or as little as you like.

A gorgeous little girl and a whole trunkload of clothes to play with, plus a great mom to hang out with – my idea of a wonderful afternoon! Her mom needed to get some headshots for her modeling agency, and I can see why Ford would want her. Journey – you are a delight, and I look forward to many more sessions with you and your family! I adore Jack. This session I got him all to myself, as his brothers were at school. We wanted to make sure we captured the time before he starts crawling like a mad man. We scheduled this session just in time! It was cold and kind of windy, so we decided to do the session indoors for a change. I had fun using all the different furniture and backgrounds in their house.

New Year’s Resolutions

We thoroughly enjoyed our winter break! I scheduled absolutely nothing. WOW. That is a first…. we slept late on a regular basis, went to the Getty Villa, National History Museum, CA Science Center, Malibu Pier, saw tons of movies, went for bike rides, read a ton of books… so nice! Not to mention that I cleaned out all our closets, took bags of stuff to Goodwill, scheduled dentist and doctor appointments for the new year, booked a family spring break vacation to Mexico and finished my personal photo books. I am now ready to dive into 2010!

I am putting my New Year’s Goals here so that I will be accountable for actually doing them. Last year I had way too many resolutions, and didn’t prioritize the important ones enough. This year, I am just making 2-3, and keeping it simple.

Personal –

1. Run 3 miles 3x a week. (With the goal of doing the Nike Half-Marathon in October.)

2. Spend more quality time with my husband.

3. Do our personal family photo books for 2009. (Yay! I just finished 2008!)

Business –

1. Finish my website and marketing materials.

2. Outsource/Hire someone to do my accounting and help with album design.

3. Finalize my client site for online proofing and payments.
