Happy Thanksgiving! I am so very thankful this year in particular, as we are currently in the Dominican Republic sitting down to a Dominican feast with no turkey in sight. My Dad “retired” last year, and we have been planning this trip for a while now – my parents, my sister and brother-in-law. I went to second grade through fifth grade in the Dominican Republic, and it is a big part of who I am today. I am so grateful to be here again with my children experiencing the things I did and saw as a child.
We celebrated Thanksgiving with Mark’s family last week, complete with turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole and a hilarious 2nd annual Roah Family Turkey Olympics. We started the tradition last year, and it is complete with winner’s plaques, an obstacle course, a jump rope competition, a wall sit competition… the list goes on. Good times. My nephew Tyler took the trophy this year!

My nephew Jackson at the beginning of the obstacle course…

My niece Brooklyn liked the football kick event…

None of us stood a chance in the jump rope event against my niece Mari!
